Somerset Beach Campground and Retreat Center encompasses 226 scenic acres in Southern Michigan. Since opening in 1982, SBC has established itself as one of the best family campgrounds in Michigan. With more than 150 electric sites, modern bathhouses, rustic cabins and plenty to do, families love camping at SBC! 



Camp sites have electricity. Modern bath houses are located in each camping area. 

A dump/fill station is also available near the entrance of the camp.

Free wi-fi is available throughout the campground.

Reservations that are cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival date may qualify for full refund. Cancellations made 15 - 30 days prior to arrival date qualify for full refund minus the deposit. If cancellation is made 14 or less days prior to arrival date all payments minus the deposit may be transferred to another reservation within 365 days of the original reservation.


Day passes are $2 per person and $5 per car Or, purchase a 6 month family pass for $50.

Campground Policies

  1. 1 Family per site, 1 Camping unit per site
  2. No more than 8 people per site
  3. Alcoholic beverages, unauthorized drugs and fireworks are prohibited. 
  4. Smoking is not permitted in any camp buildings or areas of general public use. 
  5. The hours of 11 p.m. - 8 a.m. are designated as QUIET HOURS.   
  6. A vehicle permit is required for all motor vehicles. Licensed motor vehicles and bicycles are allowed on main roadways only. Bicycles are not to be ridden on hiking trails, hills or after dark. No more than 2 motor vehicles allowed on a site. 
  7. Pets must be kept on a maximum 10’ leash at all times and are not permitted in buildings beach area, picnic and playground areas, petting farm or on hiking trails.   
  8. Your visitors are welcome between 8 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Visitors are requested to register with the camp office. A visitor fee may be required. 
  9. Check-out is 1 p.m. Check-in is 3 p.m. 
  10. Modest bathing attire is required. Persons wearing two-piece suits (except for young children) or revealing one-piece suits, including spandex, speedo, high or low cut type suits will be asked to wear some type of cover-up or change their suits.
