VOLUNTEER FAQS
When can I volunteer?

We’d love to have you join us during our Next Wave Volunteer Days—pick a day, weekend, or even a whole week to dive in with others tackling big projects. Can’t make those dates? No problem! We welcome volunteers year-round, and we’ll work with you to find a time that fits your schedule. Whether you come solo or bring a crew, there’s always something you can do to help keep the campground thriving.

What kind of projects will I be working on?

Projects vary depending on the season and campground needs. You might be helping with building or structure repairs, cleaning cabins and facilities, gardening, landscaping, woodcutting, winterizing, spring cleaning, or even repairing and updating equipment. Whether you enjoy hands-on construction, outdoor work, or simple cleanup tasks, there’s always a way to jump in and make a difference.

What can I expect when volunteering for woodcutting?

Thank you for serving by helping us process firewood for the campground! Some logs will already be cut, while others will need to be trimmed to firewood length. Once cut, there’s plenty of splitting to do — and with enough volunteers, we’ll bring in hydraulic splitters to keep the work moving quickly.

Chopping wood takes many hands, chainsaws, and splitters — but you don’t have to be an expert to help. If you can carry firewood, you can play an important role in the project!

Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Bring work gloves if you have them, and any favorite tools you like to use. We’ll provide any specialty equipment needed.

Do I need special skills or experience to help?

Not at all! We have projects for all ages and abilities. From light clean-up and painting to heavy lifting and repairs, there’s a way for everyone to pitch in.

Will food and lodging be provided?

Depending on the length of your stay, we can arrange on-site lodging and meals for volunteers. Let us know your plans so we can make sure you’re cared for while you serve.

Can I bring a group?

Absolutely! We welcome church groups, youth groups, work teams, and families. We’ll match your group with projects that fit your size and skill set.

How can I promote volunteer days at my church?

Thank you for sharing SBC with your network! Please email us and we'll send you resources to share with your congregation.

I have more questions, who do I contact?
